What is PCSL 2-Gun?

Practical Competition Shooting League (PCSL) 2-Gun is a great way to get into competitive shooting with a minimal amount of equipment and an easy to understand ruleset. No membership to PCSL is required. If you’d like to read the full rulebook, it’s available by clicking here but you don’t have to read it to attend, match directors will provide instruction as needed during events.

A simplified version of the rules is:

• There are a variety of cardboard and steel targets for either rifle or pistol based on the color of the target.
• White cardboard targets and white steel targets are for rifle.
• Brown cardboard targets and blue steel targets are for pistol.
• Red targets are “no shoots” and there will be a penalty for hitting them.
• Cardboard targets are scored based on where they are hit for a maximum of 10 points per target.
• Steel targets are scored based on a hit anywhere on the target for a maximum of 5 points per target.
• A timer tracks how long to complete the stage.
• The number of points is divided by the stage time to get your “Hit Factor” score.
  
  

When is PCSL 2-Gun in Augusta?

Matches are typically held on first Saturday of the month (between May and October) and practice matches are on the third Saturday of the month (between May and October) – weather permitting. Where is PCSL 2-Gun in Augusta?

Our matches are held at Capitol City Rifle and Pistol Club located at 861 Civic Center Drive, Augusta, ME 04332. Our stages will be located on the main range – turn right at the clubhouse, follow the road to the main range and park near the cars about halfway down the main range. The competition ranges are on the right side.

Membership at Capitol City Rifle and Pistol Club is not required to participate but is strongly encouraged (and it’s great place to shoot). If you’re not already a member and would like to sign up, click this link for an application.
